Edward J. Smith

Mr. Smith serves on the Board of Directors of ATS Corporation (OTCBB: ATCT).

Mr. Smith brings significant public company board expertise and experience to CMEP. 

Mr. Smith has been President of Barnegat Bay Capital Inc. since 2001. Barnegat Bay Capital, which Mr. Smith founded in 2001, provides corporate finance advisory services to public and private companies.  Mr. Smith currently sits on the Board of Directors of Global Imaging Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: GISX), a leading office imaging solutions company. Mr. Smith was a member of the board of directors of Fargo Electronics, Inc. (a leader in security card identity systems) from 2003 until 2006 when the company was acquired by Assa Abloy of Sweden.

During approximately 30 years in major securities firms, he has held managing director roles in investment banking at Prudential Securities Incorporated, Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc.  In those capacities, he was a senior investment banker leading a large number of financial transactions in the technology sector. Mr. Smith managed over 200 equity transactions (including approximately 80 initial public offerings) and approximately 50 M&A transactions.

Mr. Smith is a Lecturer at Yale University teaching a course entitled “The Corporate Board of Directors.”  Mr. Smith received a B.A. from Yale University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
